street style

lust lust lust

I was spending some quality time in blog land yesterday and stumbled upon some pictures that gave me seriously lust. Jak & Jil blog posted these street style photos earlier this week of some very chic ladies carrying the latest “it” bag in the fashion scene-  the Céline Classic Box Bag - during Paris & NY Fashion Week.  I am dying over these pictures. I want this bag. I am lusting after this bag.

I love its prim modern minimalism – most certainly a move away from the heavily hardware’d bags trendy in seasons past. I love the clean vintage shape, the  gleaming simple gold clasp and the adjustable (how practical!) shoulder strap. Pure understated, Parisian luxury. Well done, Phoebe Philo (girl knows what she’s doing). I can almost smell the beautiful dead baby cow leather through the computer just looking at these photos….

apparently, its a law or something that if you’re a chic lady in Paris, you must own one of these bag…

p.s. while I am partial to the classic calf leather kind, it also comes in python (!)

strawberry fields forever

One of my favorite summertime treats is fresh strawberry ice cream in a cone in the afternoon.

My hometown has the best, and cutest, little ice cream shop downtown, Mora  (Spanish & Italian for Blackberry). The business was started by a couple from Argentina (which, apparently, has amazing ice cream) and they make all of the ice cream at a creamery nearby using fresh ingredients right off the farm.

When I was home last weekend I simply couldn’t resist. Delicioso!

p.s. did you know strawberry ice cream is best enjoyed while wearing strawberry blush and strawberry lipstick?  <3

top knot-ch

My girlfriend Hilaire showed up to the wedding last weekend sporting one of the biggest hair trends for this summer: the top knot. And I liked it. Not an easy one to pull off, that top-knot…

Some would argue that Hilaire’s was more like a top-pretty-ballerina-bun than a knot. But needless to say, not everyone can pull of a bun on top of their head in everyday life (except if you’re Swedish) - and I’d say she looks pretty darn adorable… don’t you agree?

(plus, her outfit’s cute too! – love the layered pearls and the pink lipstick. Well played, my dear).

what i wore: modern bohemian

On Sunday night, while I was still in Seattle with my family, my parents threw a dinner party for some old friends. What to wear was on my mind all weekend (I had my outfit picked out for the wedding that Saturday days before). I wanted to be cozy and warm with the chilly evening weather Seattle has been having lately, as well comfortable while lounging with Kir Royale cocktails and cheese platters in my own home (and of course, festive and stylish – that’s a given in my book). I decided to wear my beloved pink printed silk skirt (here I am again in my pink – my love for wearing the color shown here) I got from Anthropologie years back – literally, my first purchase ever at Anthropologie when the 1st Seattle store opened at University Village near the UW campus around 2000.  On top I chose a cozy black zip-front waterfall sweater cardigan that I wore with numerous studded belts to create a peplum-esque silhouette. And of course, laid-back dinner parties at the house call for bare feet. Cheers to the ‘modern bohemian.’

heart shaped glasses

I woke up this morning and looked out my window only to see an overcast sky, yet again. The weather report on the news says even more days of gloom in San Francisco. Isn’t it August? This weather is making it hard to get out of bed. I wish I had these heart shaped sunglasses like my friend Lindsay to brighten up the days a bit and put a spring in my step. Doesn’t she look cute?
