Aritzia shirtdress worn as cardigan, Jigsaw lace camis, Madewell jeans, BR clutch (similar here), Rosenna Sammi bracelets, Zara heels
There is something about this rust color I just cannot get enough of – despite the fact that it is not your traditional ‘Spring’ color. It’s different (and thus, a huge part of why I like it), and looks amazing with my bright rainbow-colored bracelets. I have taken to wearing this amazing sheer silk shirtdress open like a cardigan over dresses and jeans. It gives this work-wear staple more of a downtown edge. Plus, it then trails behind me dramatically when I walk. Win. Happy Thursday everyone!

Aritzia sweater, James Perse skirt (sim here), Zara heels, Amer Apparel clutch, BR cocktail ring, M by MJ watch, Madewell spike bracelet, Essie Turquoise & Caicos nail polish, Cover Girl ‘Divine’ Lip Perfection lipstick
This is what I call my simple and relaxed chic mint moment. I couldn’t help bringing it all full circle with the nails! I heart Spring.

I love me a peplum and I love me these new neon + snakeskin Zara heels. That is all.

Hello Gorgeous! Little known fact I don’t normally advertise to the world: I am a makeup junkie. As in, I love products and I’ve tried them all and I use a lot of um. My full makeup routine -pictured above- has been crafted through many years of dedicated art-student-status experimentation and product playing. I have used some of these products for years and years (hello Stila convertible color) and some I have recently fallen in love with (Stila liquid eyeliner for perfect winged cat-eyes). I will make a couple of comments on some outstanding players and some of my favorite makeup tricks. First off, Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer is really the best. I’ve tried about 4 or so different ones, and I have officially landed on this one. I generally like for my skin to look ‘dewy’ and ‘illuminated’ and the 1, 2, 3 punch of the LM Tinted Moisturizer, Stila Convertible cheek Color and then a light layer (a dusting, or this can turn into more of a foundation powder) of Stila Illuminating Powder fits the bill. Second, I searched high and low for many many years for the perfect bronzer and I love love this Sue Devitt one. I am very fair and I never want to look orange, yet I feel like I need a little sweep of something to give me some color. The SD has a little shimmer, a little color and is perfect for sweeping over the cheekbones and t-zone with a large, open bronzer brush. I hate to say it but this particular one is discontinued but she has a new very similar one I have linked to. Third, I believe in good layering. That’s why I use 2 different eyeliners and 2 different mascaras. Trust me people, you need a base and some flair. I use Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner all around my eye to give a base and to really blend into my lashes and then I use liquid eyeliner (not always everyday) on my upper lid to create the defined wing. As for the mascara, I use Maybelline Full & Soft as a base that plumps, I let it dry fully and then I layer on 2 coats of Lash Blast which gives extra length and more thickness (I love me some lashes). I swear I’m not crazy, this system works. You must have some makeup habits that you swear by, yes?
So here you are, all of my makeup loves. I hope you find this fun and useful! Soon I’ll do a ‘cherry on top’ post of what I like to layer on and swap out when I really want to get done up for a special occasion. Glam On! xx

I may or may not be wearing pajama/lounge pants out in real life. Okay that’s more on the side of ‘may’. But I think I’m totally making it work. Judge away.
A week ago today I turned 27. Whaaa? you may be thinking, why haven’t we heard about this yet? Well, it’s because the day after my birthday I pretty much hit a life wall and came down with strep throat that kept me in bed with zero brain function until yesterday morning. But here I am, back from the dead. Another year older to all of you. Turning 27 is funny. I think I say that about all of the ages I have hit recently, and will probably say that for a while, because never in my life did I picture myself at 27. I imagined myself at 22, 25, maybe 26 but things get weird around 27. It’s that year when you jump into you late 20s and you start to feel like maybe shit’s getting real, and who likes to imagine that when you’re younger? So yes, I had some anxiety about turning this age and about what I’ve accomplished so far, you know the drill. But then I woke up the morning after I turned 27 and as I laid in bed thinking about how much fun I had the night before with my best girlfriends I realized I felt 27, I felt another year older and I was okay with it. So there. 27 here I am.
And here is some of the (mostly epicurean) fun I had on my big day. Basically, I ate and drank my way through my birthday, and it was awesome.
I hope you all out there are doing well! xx, me
