holiday sparkle

vintage sequin dress (similar here), jacket & clutch (similar here), Milly for Hue polka dot tights (similar here), Vince Camuto heels

I had the most fun weekend full of holiday party hopping (tis the season!) from one end of the city to the other – and that called for a seriously festive outfit. Cue my vintage blue sequin shift dress from Held Over on Haight St, some polka dot tights, throw in a little leopard and a little fur and good to go.  Some lipstick would’ve been nice, but you know, you can’t win um all. And it just comes off when you’re heavily cocktailing right?

I am keeping the party going (cause why not?) all this week while my good girlfrend Alicia is in town from New York, so many more festive outfits to come. I am thinking of remixing my DIY feather skirt for tomorrow!

black swan

sweater: H&M (similar here), skirt: *DIY (similar here), shoes: Seychelles, necklaces: vintage, Stella & Dot, J Crew (see similar styles here and here), nail polish: Butter London ‘The Black Knight’

You read that that right – I actually “made” this feathered skirt. I took a simple black mini skirt and sewed in an underskirt to the waistband with a layer of lace and feather trim and voilà! Fun feather skirt! I have to say I recently wore to to a festive holiday brunch and it was a total hit. It’s mighty fun to wear too!

team varsity

sweater: old Anthropologie, skirt: trouve (similar here), boots: Frye, tank: BR

Varsity sweater jackets are made infinitely better with intarsia kitties on the back.

I actually got this zip up sweater jacket years ago, mostly because I liked the homage to the classic vintage ‘Varsity jacket’, and of course, because the kitty on the back looks like my kitty, Jasper (last seen here). I have always loved its coziness, and decided to get it out and wear it when I saw Elle Fanning looking adorable per usual in this.

a new york afternoon

sweater: old Zara, mustard top: H&M, skirt: Madewell, shoes: BR, collar necklace: H&M, (similar here), bag: Kooba

I spent Sunday in New York traversing the city from one end to another, exploring, shopping, and rendezvousing with friends. First it was a jaunt to Williamsburg (where I had some seriously good coffee and saw Lana del Rey walking down the street), then a hop skip and a jump over to the Meatpacking for a lovely afternoon brunch with New York friends Meghan (who snapped those pics of me!) and Eliot at the delicious Fig & Olive, then scampered uptown to the upper upper west side for an early evening cocktail with my best friend from high school and lovely NYC host and Columbia student, Chadé. I get around, don’t I?
