The Seattle Free People store happened to be across the street from the restaurant I was meeting a friend for lunch at the other day, and what do you know, she was a little late and…. I may or may not have gone on a little shopping spree. Sometimes that store just really gets me, you know? It’s like stepping into a life you wish you had. How cute is this chambray shirt with bandana print insets? And then I had to have these crazy stripe harem pants – they’re like pajamas suitable for the real world! Couldn’t pass up. Oh and I finally got a beautiful gold Maya Brenner ‘Washington State’ necklace. My home state/city is pretty close to my heart figuratively, and now it is literally too. Might never take it off as long as California continues to be my current official residence. ♥♥

These emerald jeans I just picked up at Gap make me feel like the Fall, it’s a comin’. I’m excited, I love fall dressing.
My life motto: when in doubt, throw on more necklaces. Seriously, it instantly makes an outfit, doesn’t it? If you need a little help figuring out how to put together a neck party (as I like to call them), check out my ‘how to layer necklaces’ guide on The Glitter Guide here.

This weekend I decided to take my summery crochet sweater tank I originally bought for casual beachside cocktails in Costa Rica (pics here!) and dress it up city-chic style for dinner in SF. Crochet and spikey studs? Who woulda thought it would work so well?! This post is a prime example that mixing elements that seemingly don’t go together can work if you tie the outfit together well. I dressed up the tank with a black knit pencil skirt and black heels and added gold jewelry that bordered on the more casual side (including my embroidery threaded gold link bracelet I made using these directions). All of a sudden, the clutch purse seemed to work, and I had repurposed beachy tank for my city life. Thoughts? Love? Hate? Have you ever had success remixing your wardrobe pieces as such?!
Happy Monday and hope you all had a great weekend!

For some reason cool outdoor spaces to meet up with a friend for a glass of wine are few and far between in SF. Thank god for 620 Jones (where these photos were taken). I highly suggest you approach from the North though, as walking in from the South from Union Square through the Tenderloin was an interesting experience. The homeless sure did love this multicolored skirt though. I also have decided that khaki is a nice warm neutral that I should incorporate into my wardrobe more. I tend to associate it with khaki pants of the 1990s Gap variety, but it really doesn’t have to be that way… it can be hippened up. See: this vest, and the khaki stripes in this skirt. Thoughts? Yes?
ooh lala we’re almost to Friday!

I promised you here that these jeans would be making a repeat appearance on this blog, and indeed, here they are. They have totally become a wardrobe MVP for me. I love to dress them up with a silk blouse and heels (as seen here), or down with a tee and sneaks. Gotta get all my wear out of them before we all transition into Fall long skinnies and dark flares! Tell me friends, what’s your wardrobe MVP of late?

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had great weekends. It was summer as per the usual norm here in San Francisco on Saturday – frigidly cold (although admittedly, we have been having one of the best SF’s summers I have ever experienced up to now). For a laid-back afternoon outting out to Ocean Beach, I decided to stick to my trusty summer maxi, but threw on a cozy sweatshirt alternative hi-low hem sweater (with stars!) and some boots to keep my feet warm, ha. Very SF summer.
p.s. these pictures were taken outside of the Mollusk surf shop, where me and my friends all bought one of these- the worlds most cozy, soft and cute sweatshirt. Very cool place. you should go.
