A second look from my photoshoot with Sarah Deragon. This outfit was sort of my ode to ‘Boardwalk Empire’ and 20s boudoir chic. I have a collection of vintage slip dresses I have collected over the years and I couldn’t resist pulling a couple of my favorites out for this shoot. A slew of art deco jewelry, my favorite glamorous fur and magenta lips solidified the look.

Many of you have asked about my hair and makeup in these two posts, so I am planning on doing a roundup of all my favorite products soon. xx

valentine’s day party outtakes

Happy Monday all! If you haven’t already seen my latest Glitter Guide post on hosting a Valentine’s Day party for girlfriends, head on over and check it out now. We had so much fun putting together this party at my apartment, something in line with the manicure tea party we had done last summer. Except for this time, we brought in the alcohol. I couldn’t resist concocting up a signature ‘Lady Love’ cocktail for the event. I think I may have a third career in mixology.

Sharing with you here  some behind the scenes shots I took and my pink and red outfit details!

Graham & Spencer pink top, BR FS red skirt (similar here), Topshop earrings (sim here), BR orange enamel necklace, F21 long gold necklaces

The ‘Lady Love’ cocktail:

Ingredients:
*2/3 cup Pink Sparkling Rosé
*1/3 cup Club soda
*15 mL Vodka
*15 mL Elderflower liqueur (such as St. Germain)
*Fresh or frozen berries

Pour berries into the bottom of the glasses. In a cocktail shaker, mix the vodka and the elderflower liqueur with ice. Pour liqueur mix into glasses and top off with equal parts club soda and sparkling Rosé

 ’Girls’ Night In’ Goodie Bags

I filled the bottom of cellophane bags (available at party stores or Paper Source) with candy and then added mini airplane-sized bottles of vodka and St. Germain elderflower liquer (available at BevMo), a cocktail jigger (fancier shot glass- I bought these at Crate & Barrel) and a pair of pink Hanky Panky lace undies I tied with a ribbon). I tied each bag with red and white striped twine and made personalized Valentine name cards with a Glitter pen and heart stickers (all bought at Paper Source).

This shoot was truly a giant group effort to make it all perfect, and one of the best parts was getting to meet and work with both Amanda of One True Love Vintage Rentals  (check out her site, such an awesome and fun business she has created) and Jacin of Lovely Little Details (her glitterifying and flower skills are enviable), who styled the event with me. Both talented and creative creative ladies. And special thanks to the gorgeous Priscilla Francine for doing our makeup and my dear girlfriends Heather and Sara for being my guests! And of course, Miss blondie Glitter Guide herself, thanks for bringing us together, having us on GG and being such a lovely party guest, Taylor! I hope we have inspired some of you to throw a party (bridal shower, birthday party) for you and your girlfriends. xx

Here is all of the information on how to create the party step by step yourself
